I am super happy to be running the 2026 London Marathon on behalf of the Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool. I am already deep into the training and would love you forever if you would be able to sponsor me!
I am really pleased to be running the London Marathon on behalf of The Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool. I hope to raise over £3000 which will all go to the centre. As someone who lived and worked in the city centre, I can see the problem we have with the number people who have sadly found themselves homeless. But I also see the great positive work that The Whitechapel Centre do in tackling the issue and giving people a chance to move forward with their lives.
I have worked with the centre before in fundraising and I know they are grateful of all donations. I would love if you could donate a little and help me achieve my target - I know the thought of running for a worthy cause like this will help me when I hit the 20 mile wall!
So my cheeky request is to ask that if you have ever had your photo taken with the wings, you owe me £1 - and that pound can be donated here so your fee goes directly to a good cause! ;-D
Why you are running the TCS London Marathon?
The first marathon I ever ran was London 2014. This was my bucket list marathon, never to do another. Since then, I have ran 22 marathons all over Europe. I caught the bug I guess. I try to do a couple each year. I will never forget that emotion of my first marathon, crossing the line and looking around to see others feel the same relief I was feeling. I remember people running with the names of loved ones written on their back. Some were crying, overwhelmed by what they had achieved and what it meant to them. This was a special moment for me, and I still get goosebumps.
This year, I was really honoured to be asked to run the London Marathon on behalf of The Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool. This is a charity I have worked with before, auctioning one of my paintings at my exhibition to raise funds for them.

London is a special marathon. This will be my 3rd time. I am forever telling other runners that no other marathon compares! It is a festival from start to finish. The crowd and atmosphere are amazing and its hard to describe how much that environment benefits every single runner, pushing them along and lifting them at their low points. Seeing Big Ben and knowing the finish line is insight sends shivers down your spine!
What progress means to you?
Progress is not perfection. Progress comes from failing. Progress is incremental. Progress is gradually. Progress is about small improvements. Progress is not a straight line but an upward trend with fluctuations and occasional set-backs. Progress is getting back up. Progress is looking forward, but checking back to see how far you have come. Progress is small steps that build into a marathon.
Progress is personal but is better shared. We compete with ourselves but thrive when we work together. We have much more inside of us than we realise. Progress is the journey, achieving is the reward!
