A high quality print of an epic scene depicting the tragic sinking of the HMS Birkenhead.  Painted on a gable end, the mural captured the chaos of the tragedy which floundered off the coast of South Africa.  The disaster is believed to be the origin of the term, "Women and Children First".  Despite the brooding sea and sky, the painting manages to inject some colour, which lifts the mural.

The original piece is located on Gallaghers Pub on Chester Street, Birkenhead.  The original piece is around 10 metres wide and 7 metres high.
